How do I make my presentation more organized?
Toastmasters has a 10 speech program to earn your Competent Communicator (CC) award. The first speech is the "Icebreaker" where you just stand up and speak in front of group about a topic that comes easy for you, you.
The second speech is organize your speech with a beginning, middle, and end. BEFORE you do that, there is secret missing from the manual.

What is the point of your speech?
What is in it for the audience?
Now simplify that intention. Get out a standard sharpie on a standard post it note. Write that intention out. Can you still read it? Did you run out of room?
Simplify it, shrink it and make every word count.
Repeat it 5-7 times in the speech, about once a minute.
Repeat it in or right after the beginning attention getter.
Repeat it each on the 3 supporting points, emotional stories, facts, or background.
Repeat it in metaphor with props.
Repeat it in image with your presentation
Repeat it in mime with gestures
Repeat it in your conclusion.
When you are done, if you have done your job well, your audience will be repeating your point over and over again.
Our next meeting is Thursday May 7th off SW 120st and SW 127th Ave, near the Costco. If you or anyone you know is interested, please reach out to me and share the Meetup.
